Last summer vacation, I had a wonderful trip to Beijing with my parents. It was my first time visiting the capital of China, and I was so excited that I could hardly sleep the night before!
On the first day, we went to the Great Wall. It was like a huge dragon winding on the mountains. My dad said, "It’s one of the longest walls in the world!" I tried to climb up step by step. When I reached the top, I felt so proud! I shouted, "I made it!" and took many photos there. The wind blew gently, and I could see green trees and small villages far away. It was so beautiful!
In the afternoon, we visited the Forbidden City. There were so many red buildings and yellow roofs! Our guide told us that emperors lived there a long time ago. I saw big stone lions and golden chairs. I touched the old walls and felt like I was traveling back in time. My mom said, "This is a part of Chinese history." I nodded and thought, "Wow, our country is so amazing!"
On the second day, we went to Beijing Zoo. I saw pandas! They were so cute with black and white fur. Some were eating bamboo, and some were sleeping like big balls. I laughed loudly when I saw a baby panda tumbling over. Then, we watched a dolphin show. The dolphins jumped high and played with balls. The audience clapped their hands happily. I even learned to say "dolphin" in English: "D-o-l-p-h-i-n. It’s fun!"
This trip was not only fun but also helped me practice English. When I met a foreign tourist at the zoo, I tried to say, "Hello! Welcome to Beijing!" He smiled and said, "Thank you! Your English is great!" I felt so confident!
I love Beijing, and I love traveling. Traveling lets me see new things, learn new things, and speak English. I hope I can visit more places in the future. Maybe next time, I’ll go to Shanghai or Xi’an! This was the best summer vacation ever!
